To help our students to obtain native Chinese accent and transit smoothly to nursery class, Hua Hsia Chinese School Baby Classes in 2012 for children aged from 6 to 36 months. We aim to provide structured fun activities and secured Mandarin learning environment for young learners.
Our curriculum is based on the philosophy of spiral curriculum proposed by Bruner(1960), which suggests that better learning outcome can be obtained through repeated concept learning experience. Our curriculum design places a great emphasis on the structure of Chinese learning and culture learning rather than merely word by word repetition. Both children and parents will be exposed to basic Mandarin words, songs and most importantly the structure of language in activities. This also allows parents to learn Mandarin from scratch and practice Mandarin with babies at home.
We organize various activities for children to be involved, such as singing with movements, storytelling, art craft, and small competition. We create fun learning activities to enable children to acquire mandarin naturally. We placed a great emphasis on song learning coordinated with body movements. The example of the application comes from the 'washing hands' becomes more meaningful for children.
